Hi,
I have purchased a second-hand ultraRendu and an LGC LPS pair here in the UK. Out of the box, the OS and SonicOrbiter 2.8 do not work with this particular (fairly high-end) DAC.
Some tests that I've done showed that Ayre-supplied ASIO drivers for WIndows worked fine in DSD512 Native in Roon and HQPlayer Desktop. As of now, Jussy, the developer of HQPlayer has updated his rendu NAA OS to version 3.2.1, which I am happy to report does support DSD512 Native on my unit. Mission accomplished? Perhaps.
I would, however, also like to suggest that equivalent changes should be done in the rendu OS such that the DAC is supported directly on all key apps, Roon Ready and HQPlayer NAA, in particular. To clarify, I do not believe any app update will be sufficient, as the OS itself needs to recognise the DAC capabilities.
I would appreciate a lot if you could look into this problem.
Many thanks
Alex
