  • SonicOrbiter - 2 versions behind in updates for HQPlayer NAA

Jussi at Signalyst, the developer of all things HQPlayer has now released HQPlayer NAA version 4.3.0 on November 7, 2022. I am still running HQPlayer NAA version 4.2.3 which Signalyst released back in July. We are now by my count 2 versions behind in updates for HQPlayer NAA.
Any chance we can get the SonicOrbiter OS updated to include the latest version of HQPlayer NAA 4.3.0?

The current version of the HQP NAA is 4.2.5 which is currently on the SO update channel. The 4.3.0 version you refer to is the HQP OS which is intended for use as a complete HQP OS. Just run the SO update and then check that you have 4.2.5 NAA

The latest version of NAA that Jussi has released for the ARM platform (Sonore Rendu) is 4.2.5. If you have an older version press the update button to get the latest.

The latest version of HQplayer server is 4.33.0. If you don't have the version press the update button.

Thanks bobflood and agillis for providing your respective answers. Bob, what is the "SO update channel"?
I have updated and everything is good.

SO is the SonicOrbiter update button which you have done. Sorry for the slang.

On Wednesday I checked the "SO update channel" to see if the Network Audio Daemon had been updated to version 4.3.0 and found that it had not. Is there another way to check for these types of updates? I don't like having to run the update to find nothing has changed and then required to re-boot the mR.

There is no other way that I am aware of. Maybe @agillis could be convinced to put up a notice when an update is available.

Checked yesterday on the "SO update channel" to see if it had any updates for the HQPlayer Network Audio Daemon version 4.3.0. Nothing new to report...

Unless I am misunderstanding this list from Signalyst, it shows the 4.3.0 version of the NAA for "cubox-i-rendu" uploaded on Nov. 7, 2022. Am I mistaken?

I too would like to be able to access the 4.3.0 version of the NAA as it may help solve an issue I have with DSD playback. Can we get this put into a system update for the Rendu please?

Team, Jussi stated, "4.2.5 should be mostly good. Changes are mostly on input side, but I have not heard anybody using Rendu for input."
