  • OpticalRendu high sampling rate support

    Hello,

    I have been enjoying Roon/HQPLayer combo for several months now.
    The configuration as follows:
    Roon ROCK (NUC10) -> HQPlayer (Mac Mini M1) -> OR -> McIntosh C2700 preamp with built-in DAC.
    OR had no problem running at maximum rates for C2700 (PCM up to 384Khz and DSD up to DSD256).
    After getting Chord DAVE, I tried switching to 768KHz PCM and could not get it work.
    A track would either sound like a white noise, or play music and stop after few seconds.
    Skipping tracks sometimes restores a playback, but only temporarily.

    Andrew suggested to try Roon's upsampling, same thing in Roon Ready mode at 768Khz.
    All three devices connected to the same switch with a 10Gbps switching capacity.

    Has anybody tried running OpticalRendu at 768Khz PCM?

    BTW, everything works fine with direct connection between Mac Mini and DAVE.

    Thanks,
    Vitaly
