Current version of player software

Hi - Just installed a new ultraRendu (v1.3). I went in to update the player software and it shows "Current SW version" as 2.9 (which I assume is what is installed on the microSD card) and then it shows "Latest SW Version" as being 2.8. Isn't the Latest normally the same or greater than the Current version? Should I update or leave it as is?

SO 2.9 is under development and testing and not available yet. It's okay to ignore it for now.

So what does SO 2.9 provide extra or is it just kernel updates? Will be a OTA upgrade or a new SD card as with 2.8?

The kernel updates have an improved USB stack that we are very excited about. How it will be release has not been disclosed...something is planned so keep any eye out for it.
